THE APPLICATION
Reliable ignition for flare pilots and burners
An HEI system delivers an ignition spark at a defined point in a burner or pilot arrangement. The igniter, lead, power unit and control interface have to work with the burner geometry and the sequence expected by the overall system.
PS Technology builds HEI systems in-house at our Defu Lane workshop, sourcing the components ourselves and assembling the exciter, leads and igniters to suit the pilot or burner arrangement. Before building, we confirm the ignition point, control signals, power supply and site conditions.
We also build complete burner skids to order, fitted with our own pilot igniters and HEI ignition.
Is HEI the same as a full burner control system?
No. HEI refers to the ignition equipment. The wider system may also include fuel controls, flame detection and safety logic, with scope defined separately for the project.

What is a high energy ignition (HEI) system used for?
Lighting flare pilots and burners reliably. The exciter produces a high-energy spark at the igniter tip to ignite the pilot or burner fuel.
